Research & Development
Teqniqa collaborates with academic and industrial partners to deliver applied research and development projects delivering our technological knowhow to a wide variety of industries. Teqniqa has received funding from Innovate UK for the development of load reduction mooring systems to support the development of the floating offshore wind market and for the development of reduced rolling resistance tyres for carbon reduction programmes. We leverage our expertise to create solutions which add commercial value, operational effectiveness and through life cost efficiencies whilst meeting the required quality standards for products which often face operation in demanding systems and environments.
Our capability spans feasibility studies, development of materials and coatings, materials testing, design and development of fabricated structures, prototype development and testing, operational trials and design certifications.
Teqniqa utilise 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis software, allowing our designers and engineers to model complex assemblies to assist in the creation, modification, dynamic analysis and optimisation of designs. Modelling the influence of deformation effects, stress under the effect of load, the dynamic analysis of fluid-rigid interaction, tension and the effects of pressure are part of design process for flexible structures before prototype manufacture begins.
Prototyping & Manufacture
Teqniqa utilises a wide variety of resources for rapid prototype development and our experienced development team have delivered many development projects for marine, offshore, medical and space applications. Our supply chain management enables a smooth transition from initial feasibility through prototyping to product realisation.
Our experience in the manufacture and manipulation of a vast variety of films and textiles including thermoplastics, such as Polyurethane (PU) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Liquid crystal polymers such as Vectran®, aramids such as Kevlar® and CBRN protective materials gives a unique capability in the field of protective products, lightweight pressure vessels and fabricated structures that can be rigidised with air or water to high pressures.
Teqniqa employs manufacturing techniques such as Radio Frequency Welding (also known as RF Welding, Dielectric Sealing or Heat Sealing), CNC Cutting and Industrial Strength Sewing.
We provide a cost-effective means of producing high quality prototypes and components with reduced lead-times.
